The Exotic Car Festival was started in 2017 by the Ferrari Drivers Group of Sarasota. The first festival in Lakewood Ranch was such a great success, that in 2018 a second festival at ST. Armand was added.
All proceeds of the festivals benefit Flight To The North Pole.
As our car shows grow so does the money for the charity. In 2017 we raised $25,000, in 2018 we raised $50,000. Our goal for 2019 is $75,000 for Flight To The North Pole.
All money raised stays in our local area and 100% of the proceeds go to the charity.
The Foundation for this program started in 1985 by a number of Eastern Airline flight attendants and has grown ever since. For many years, Sidney Ettedgui, the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office and the Sarasota/Bradenton Airport Fire Department make this a memorable event for the terminally ill children.
The “Flight to the North Pole” tradition continues in that each child that attends [and their siblings] are presented with gifts, lunch, and entertained by volunteers dressed as elves and clowns. The event is held the second week in December, with the Sheriff and his staff volunteering their time, along with Airport Fire Department personnel. The Sheriff’s Office helicopter transports “Santa”, who lands at the airport Fire Station and greets the children and their families, with hugs. Once Santa arrives, you can hardly contain the excitement of the children and families
The “Flight to the North Pole” is dedicated to an annual Christmas event providing compassion and good-will for local families dealing with a child suffering from life-threatening or special health problems. Our mission is to continue these efforts to provide a measure of joy to a truly underserved population of children who may or may not live to see another Christmas
